Revive your allies (and strangers) If the area around you is safe, always take the time to revive fallen players.
Remember to dodge Double tapping a direction key will make your character roll and evade. The yellow bar above the red health orb is your energy, and you won't be able to evade if it's empty.
Auto-loot option Be sure you check the 'auto loot' option in your preferences. This means that when you press F to loot an enemy's corpse, the items will automatically be added to your inventory (providing there's space).
Hide the interface You can disable the HUD for taking screenshots. To do so, press ctrl+shift+H on your keyboard. Pressing the print screen button will dump a shot in your Windows docs folder in .jpg format.
Heal or protect everyone Practicing to heal helps you learn to keep track of allies’s health. You don’t need to party with them to heal them. Just a mouse-over can tell you what they health is, and popping healing skills where they stand can help them out.
Reveal map with scouts Look for the telescope icon on your map. This is a scout, and talking to them will reveal a large area of the map and give you details of the heart quests in that area. You can also uncover the map (as well as waypoint, vista, etc. icons) by simply walking there.
Find enemies that have been alive for longer Enemies give you bonus XP depending on how long they've been alive. Kill mobs in areas that people are in all the time and you'll get a standard amount of XP, actively seek out enemies that haven't been killed in a while, non-threatening yellows and enemies at the very edges of maps and you can pick up quadruple the XP for each enemy killed easily. In starting zones this can be as much as 40 XP a kill, not too shabby at all.
You don't need the bank to access your bank items Any crafting station functions as a bank, too.
Bring weapons that synergize well together learn to swap often so that you make optimal use of your skills. Playing this way lets skills refresh while you use the other weapon set. Quick-charging skills can often be used twice before allowed to swap.
